Koala purple hazed wildlife art with a twist

Inspired by the smoke haze floating over the Gippsland countryside, for many days in late April. The planned burn left a purple blue touch to everything. It got me thinking of those poor koalas in the fog of choking smoke. The interesting hues influenced my decision to experiment with this haze of purple and to push my boundaries using bright non standard colour on this interesting and iconic Australian animal.

I took a further risk and added touches of orange to the eyes and around the animals face to echo the beautiful flaming autumnal leaves and of course those fires. I have a thing for koalas they have an innocent quality but behind the cute face they can be quite feisty when they need to be.

This piece of artwork, I hope will make the viewer think about the plight of animals subjected to unpleasant smoke inhalation during burn offs.

This experimental acrylic painting is currently for sale on boxed canvas (20cms x 20cms x 1.5cms). For best price contact me directly or you can purchase from me via Saatchiart. If you want your own print check out my koala art on Redbubble.

Back to Australia again!

Hello again! Well it has been another while since I have posted to my art blog. My apologies.

Moving around the world and back with two young children is not for the fainthearted and unfortunately a few things have had to take a back seat for awhile and my blog has been amongst them.

Now back in Australia with my own computer and most importantly space for my desk, I am slowly getting back up and running.

Migrating back to Australia I have found the process a bit easier this time, thankfully. I have certainly felt more thankful to be able to return and trying to make the most of all Australia has to offer in terms of floral and wildlife. Being in rural Victoria again there is no shortage of exciting flora and fauna to enjoy.

At the moment I am living close to Uralla Nature Reserve. So I have taken my kids several times to the reserve for bush walks and each time we have seen something different.

My last trip was particularly special as we encountered on the path a wallaby just standing there looking straight at us. Very exciting to see one so close in the wild.

However for me the wild orchids I just fell in love with, being flower mad to see such beautiful plants with butterflies darting around in their natural setting was truly magical. This walk reminded me why I love and returned to Australia.

These beautiful wild orchids inspired me to paint the orchids on a whimsical birthday card for my mum, whom I am so sad about leaving back in the UK and not being able to visit on her upcoming birthday.

New bags beach inspired

http://www.zazzle.com/mylittleeden/beach+gifts

After living rural and very much in land for almost one year, I loved my day out at the beach at Inverloch, Victoria, Australia. Surfers were out in force along this stretch of wonderful coast and the rocks, shells, sea creatures and the powerful sea, helped me to create my latest collection. http://www.zazzle.com/mylittleeden/beach+gifts

Getting ready for Christmas with zazzle

With Christmas only weeks away, I have been burning the midnight oil and days to deliver unique and quality designs at my little eden

Cards are a must at Christmas time and if like me you need to send from Australia to UK, you have to be even more organised. Use this Australian post link http://auspost.com.au/apps/international-post-guide.html to help give you a guide for cards and parcel delivery times.

I normally post end of November from both UK to Australia and now Australia to UK to guarantee cards arrive before Christmas.

Snipe on frozen water is a painting I produced whilst back in the UK. This bird I managed to see wading near the crouch in Essex. However the background is more from my imagination.

Rudolph came about from some snow pictures in my local paper. It inspired me to create this happy reindeer character knee deep in snow.

I always love to add a little sparkle to my life particularly around Christmas time. So I created this glitzy christmas bauble card to help spread a little bling.

One of the things I love about zazzle is the way the customer can add a personal touch to there items. I like to produce items that gives to purchaser this opportunity. This card was designed to insert a family photo or a nice picture of the kids or even the dog's into it, making it a really special card. I personally love to get pictures of the family every year.

My little angel. I started to draw her as a sort of sister figure to my son, hence the red hair. She has become more symbolic to me as just as I was finishing her, my son lost a wonderful grandad and we all lost a great father and friend. We need this little angel prayer even more.
